Playa Venao is a very special place where many people find new inspirations through a connection with nature. That is what happened to the founders of Studio Terracotta in Playa Venao, after many years of traveling.
Since Venao is growing more and more as the time goes by, they decided to create an art studio that would promote sustainable art practices. At Studio Terracotta, you will not find plastic : the materials used are natural, recycling is promoted and encouraged, and the respect of nature is a core value. This space is built to create, share and connect with nature.
An interesting purpose of the studio’s activities is to empower travelers and the local community members to learn arts and to be able to start their own practice. The studio enables its participants to learn the basics, buy materials and continue the practice wherever they are. The knowledge gained at Terracotta is meant to continue to travel through the artists as they pursue their traveling journey outside of Venao.
Terracotta offers a range of classes and workshops as well as an open studio schedule. Each and every classes are an opportunity to connect with yourself in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Pottery, macrame, ceramic, botanical healthcare, natural soaps, woodworking, painting…these are some of the many arts you can get familiar with at the studio, and the offer keeps growing as new activities keep being added up. To take part in the activities, you can subscribe to a membership or simply pay per class.
In need of some inspiration for a nice gift? At Terracotta, you can buy unique art pieces, all handmade at the studio in the market section.
You can also find a second hand clothing shop section, where you can bring yours to exchange! How does it work? Simply bring any clothes that you are no longer using to Terracotta. Each piece of clothing that you drop will give you points that you can then use to purchase other clothes in exchange.
