In Playa Venao, district of Pedasí, we have installed an official flag system to inform residents and both national and international visitors about ocean conditions and to reinforce safety at this important tourist beach.

This initiative was coordinated by 🤝 SINAPROC, ATP (Panama Tourism Authority), the Municipality of Pedasí, SUME 911, SENAN, National Police, the Oría Arriba Community Board, local residents, and businesses, following several strategic coordination meetings.
🟡 Yellow Flag: Enter the water with caution.
🟣 Purple Flag: Presence of marine life or potentially dangerous sea creatures.
🔴 Red Flag: Not safe for swimmers. Experienced surfers only due to strong currents and heavy waves.

📍 In addition, bilingual signage is being placed in local businesses to ensure clear and accessible information for everyone.
🩺 This initiative also includes first aid training for tourism staff working in local establishments and the development of ongoing prevention campaigns.
Our commitment is clear:
✨ Safer tourist destinations for everyone.
