A Surfer Journey to Playa Venao

My name is Casey and I just spent a week in Playa Venao and it is truly a gem. It has so much to offer, and is quite compact, but never crowded. With waves that cater to all levels of surf, daily self-work activities, and a nearby nature reserve with hiking trails, waterfalls, and an amazing panoramic viewpoint, you are never bored in Playa Venao. Great for families, solo travelers, and group travelers.

I found out about Playa Venao by searching surf destinations in Panamá. I have been all over Costa Rica surfing, but never in Panamá. Playa Venao did not disappoint – it has waves for every level of surfer, friendly locals, waves at all tides and times, and enough breaks to not have much “traffic.”

Although small, there is a great food scene here. Namely, the Italian Pizza Shop Gatto Blanco, has great pizza, and the ice cream shop Motek, has really interesting flavors – try the Matcha ice cream! Lastly, check out the hippie cafe above the mini super Venao Brewing House- great vibes there.

From an investment perspective, Playa Venao seems like it is on the cusp of becoming huge (like to the level of a Nosara or Santa Teresa in Costa Rica), but it is still a few years away with a seemingly large quantity of lots available and plently of flat land. So, in short, the sooner you come here, the better.
